I was recently provided a $3000 SD CARD type camera to test and it was rubbish compared to this beast. Be careful, many SD cameras have to COMPRESS the footage so much that it is pretty much unusable. This footage is written at full res to the HDV media and transferred at FULL RES to the PC or MAC

The RODE Video Mic is a SHOTGUN MIC that will not record noise and voices that are NOT directly in front of the camera. It acts like a sniper rifle and records ONLY what is in front of the camera

The MIC also has a LOW FREQUENCY filter to cut WIND NOISE

Combined with the WIND SOCK (Dead Cat) this camera and mic can be used in windy situations (Parks, Beach, Windy Locations) with NO WIND heard on the CAMERA

ALSO - the MIC is ISOLATED from the CAMERA via Silicon Robber Isolation Rings to prevent your HANDS and BUTTONS making clicking noises on your VIDEO. I have seen many many videos with clicks, bumps, scratchy sounds of the camera operator pressing buttons and moving the camera around. As the RODE mic AUDIO is isolated from the camera, these sorts of noises will NOT be recorded in your footage.
