Overview: Hand Built in Perth Western Australia, this truck represents over 4 years of design, construction and fabrication. This is the only purpose built 4WD race truck in Australia at present.
Typically, off road race trucks and buggies in Australia are either light weight two wheel drive buggies or heavy 4WD vehicles fitted with heavy duty suspension components.
Having previously won 2 state championships in the ingle seater buggy class, Scott Bryce of Proformance wanted to do something different, so e has begun construction of a purpose built, hand made Four Wheel Drive Off Road Race Ttruck.
Due for completion in 2009, Proformance® are confident that this truck will dominate class 8 (4WD Class) of the the off road racing within Australia. |
A TRUE BEAST : It is hard to imagine how big this truck is unless you can actually get to stand next to the beast. Our race truck is actually wide than a H1 Hummer and is only 50mm narrower than a Semi Trailer (2.5 metres or 8ft)!
The enormous 37" BFGoodrich Baja tyres provide plenty of ground clearance and are specailly designed for off road racing to prevent punctures and tyre staking.
Proformance trucks are equipped with Hella HID ( High Energy Discharge) Xenon Spot and Driving Lights. These lights use a 12V to 35,000 Volt Ballast to produce a brilliant "White" light that penetrates the daskness formore than 1000 metres. |

ENGINE: Our Race truck is fitted with a rear mounted 350 Cubic Inch Chev NASCAR small block race engine. This awesome engine will redline at over 8000RPM pushing this awesome truck through rough terrain at top speed of over 230kmh.
Proformance build our own engines to exacting tolerances to ensure the highest performance and reliability during the toughest racing conditions - Off Road Racing.
Our V8 Monster Engine uses a BOWTIE race blosk that is 60% heavier than a typical 4 bolt vhev block and many bottom end components typical in NASCAR engines. Without the NASCAR restictions, we are able to use Fuel Injection. Proformance engines are controlled by WOLF Engine Management Equipment(ECU).
A 5 Stage Peterson dry sump pump pulls oul from the valley cover and the dry sump tank then though a PWR oil cooler and back into the Peterson Oil reservois. The Peterson 5 Stage pump then pumps the oil through a prioroty oil system ensures superior crank and cam Lubrication. |

SUSPENSION TRAVEL:
This front photo shows our Truck suspension at the fully compressed position. Our Off Road Race Truck suspension is compressed approximately 50% when the vehicle is travelling. This provides enormous amunts of wheel travel in both up and down directions allowing the wheels to "Droop" into any large holes whilst also allowing the suspension to "Compress" as the truck drives over bumps.
SHOCKS: Our race truck is fitted with huge Swayaway "Race Runner" Shocks. These race shocks are fitted with external adjustments for compression and rebound damping

SUSPENSION - FULL DROOP:
Here you can see the suspension at what is called "Full Droop". This is the posision where the wheels are hanging down and the car is weightless. You can see cars at Full Droop when the are airborne or going over big bumps.
With over 33 Inches (840mm) of rear wheel travel and 24 inches (610mm) of front wheel travel, this truck can drive over terrain that would break a normal 4WD in half and it can do it at while travelling at more than 160KPH.
HANDLING: The Double A-Arm suspension provides exceptional handling and corning when compared to the older styles of swing axls that are common place on most two wheel drive buggies. The A-Arm suspension ensures the truck stays on track at higher speeds of up to 230KPH.
