Located in Perth Western Australia, Proformance Motorsport are currently near completion of Australia's most advanced 4WD off road race truck.
The body panels have finally arrived and the truck is looking more like a truck and less like a buggy. Our truck is using a Chevy Silverado 2009 Fibreglass Body that is more than 2.5M WIDE! That's the same width as a Semi Trailer!

As our Off Road Race Truck has much more wheel travel than most trucks (Even those in the USA) we have had to extensively modify the bode panels to accommodate the massive wheel travel.

We have removed the sections of the body that foul to construct a new body. Proformance staff will use the body with the new shape as a Male "
Plug" which is then used to create a female "Mould". The final body will be manufactured from the mould.
With the body panels removed our Race Truck looks very much like a buggy. A CAD CAM designed tubular space frame chassis has been manufactured instead of using the chassis of a production four wheel drive. This is first professionally built space frame off road race truck in Australia
Proformance Motorsport use Sway-A-Way Race Runner coil over race shocks with externally adjustable compression and rebound settings, providing the ultimate in suspension performance. Huge 37" BF Goodrich Baja Racing Tyres were chosen due to their strength, puncture resistance and race proven performance. Visit BF Goodrich

3.0" Swayaway Racerunner Bypass shocks provide a dramatic increase in compression damping as the wheel travel increases. The rates of damping for both compression and rebound are adjustable via the "quick set" valves.

Adjustable Damping is provided by Swayaway Racerunner Race Shocks shown above. Swayaway shocks are Nickel Plated and the shafts are NItrided which makes them around 10 times harder than traditional chrome plated shafts

With over 24" (600mm) front wheel travel and 33" (840mm) of rear wheel travel, this truck will fly over the toughest terrain we can find.

Swayaway shocks were chosen due to their exceptional Nickel Plated Finish, Super Hard Nitrided Steel Shafts and shortest "eye to eye" length.

Chrome Molly components are manufactured by Proformance Engineering using specialist CNC machines, providing this vehicle with an amazing 780mm of rear wheel travel to absorb huge bumps found in desert racing.
UNIDRIVE CV Joints will be used between the gearbox and differentials in place of typical uni-joints and tail shafts. This provides a much stronger and smoother drive train. GKN Motorsport performance CV Joint grease will be used to ensure that the joints remain like new.
The UNIDRIVE CV joint pictured above is used to drive the huge 37" BF Goodrich tyres. Pictured next to a cool drink holder gives you an idea of the size of these massive CV joints. Many thanks to UNIDRIVE for the supply of these CV joints.
A custom engineered Proformance gearbox will reverse the output of the engine drive and provide a an adjustable final drive reduction.

The gearbox houses two gears that can be changed in under 30 minutes. A total of 6 gears provide three separate final drive ratios and therefore three top speeds - 140kmh, 180kmh and 240kmh.

Each component of the gearbox has been designed and built specifically for this one of a kind vehicle using specialist alloys from Dicandilo Steel City

3D CAD CAM components are designed and machined in house by Proformance Engineering from specialist materials, using a CNC tool room milling machine and precision lathe.

Four HELLA HID (Xenon High Intensity Discharge) spotlights operate at 25,000 volts turn night into day, essential for high speed navigation during off road racing. Spotlights are mounted in bearings allowing the navigator to perform adjustments required due to varying traction and fuel loads.

This image shows our 4WD Trophy Truck at full compression. We have more rear independent wheel travel than any Off Road Truck in Australia or the USA!

Sitting with the suspension at Full Droop, our race truck has 600mm of Front Ground Clearance and nearly 750mm of rear ground clearance.

Proformance have manufactured custom CAD CAM designed front spindled and hubs. Every component has has been specially designed to provide the strongest suspension components possible.

This is an image of the Front Lower A Arm Ball Joint Mount before being welded into the A-Arm. Again, manufactured from 4140 Chrome Moly Steel, nothing is left to chance. The strongest components possible are used everywhere on this extreme All Wheel Drive Off Road Racing Truck

Our engine used a Bow Tie Factory Race Prepared Small Block Chev .with Bronze Lifter Bores, solid roller camshaft, Roller Rockers and 23 Degree Heads with 2.02" Inlet valves.

Being a mid mounted engine, we have had to manufacture our own transfer case, gears and shafts. The image below shows the quick change transfer case gears being manufactured.

Proformance manufactured custom made Differential Centre's right here in Perth Western Australia. The Diff Centre's were manufactured from 4340 Chrome Moly Steel. We mount the Detroit Locker internals inside the HUGE 10" Diameter Taper Roller bearings. This results in a diff that is only 100mm between CV faces providing much longer axles and of course - more wheel travel.

Fully Floating Disk Rotors. Bobbins were custom manufactured with tight tolerances to clear the huge hubs and Alcon Billet Calipers.

At nearly 90% completion, we are presently fitting the body panels, floor, brake lines and fuel tanks in preparation for testing in late 2009.
A rear mounted 350 Cubic Inch Chev NASCAR small block will redline at over 8000RPM pushing this awesome truck through rough terrain at top speed of over 230kmh.

This monster engine is equipped with EFI HARDWARE - SPEED TECHNOLOGY fuel injection components.
Our BFG Race Tyres are held in place by Rock Monster Wheels which have TWO beadlocks.  The Rock Monster Beadlock Wheels prevent our tyres from "Popping" off the bead in extreme cornering situations and when running low tyre pressures. The race vehicle floor is 650mm above the ground plane when at full height, providing the ultimate in ground clearance and wheel travel.
A WOLF 3D ECU will control the fuel injection and ignition to provide the optimum performance and reliability allowing our race prepared motor to provide nearly over 600HP of reliable power.
Custom manufactured Differentials using Precision Gear Dana 60 Ring and Pinions with Detroit Lockers fitted internals. Our hand made differentials use HUGE 10" taper roller bearings to allow the CV joints to sit inside the diff carrier, providing longer axles and more wheel travel.

The Holinger 6 Speed Sequential Shift Transmission fitted to our race truck is the same as used in BOTH Ford and Holden V8 Supercars in Australia.

Proformance manufactured a transfer case with Three (3) sets of quick change gears. Gear sets can be changed in under 30 minutes. To fit the hand made transfer case to the the Six Speed Holinger transmission, Proformance manufactured a Billet Aluminium adapter plate as shown below.

very component of this vehicle will be monitored and displayed using using an AIM Digital Dash/Logger. This awesome Display will be used by Proformance to log and record suspension travel, motor and drive train performance brake temperatures, steering position, cornering force and so on. Data is downloaded using a Laptop via an USB cable.

The front differential will use a No Spin Detroit Locker from Locked Drive Systems Australia to ensure that the front wheels pull this huge vehicle without wheel spin, yet still provide smooth cornering similar to that of an "open centre" diff.
The Detroit Locker maximizes traction by delivering 100% of the torque to both drive wheels. It is engineered to keep both wheels in a constant drive mode, and has the ability to automatically allow wheel speed differentiation when required.

Four billet Aluminium ALCON racing calipers and huge 330mm "Fully Floating" Brembo disks, provide this race truck with the ultimate in braking.

Custom machined chrome moly front suspension spindles provide this vehicle with the ultimate in strength and reliability.

Huge Swayaway 6" Travel bump Stops prevent the suspension pounding the chassis to pieces when pushed to the limit over huge bumps and jumps. The image below shows the rear Swayaway Bump Stop Fully compressed

Triple Bypass Racerunner shocks by Swayaway keep the wheels on the ground and the vehicle under control over the roughest terrain. Swayaway Nitrided Steel Shafts are far superior to other shocks that use Chrome Shafts.

Front Suspension at full droop. Dual Rate Springs and exponential spring rate is achieved by limiting the travel of one spring after a determined shock compression.

Hydraulic Steering Components supplied by Hydraulics International were fitted to Custom Made components for our Race Truck. This truck has NO STEERING box or Rack and Pinion. It uses Hydraulic Steering ONLY.

To allow our Race Truck to operate without any steering rack, we CAD CAM designed a special steering ram that allows the steering joints to ride INSIDE the ram itself, allowing for more wheel travel and less bump steer.
5 Stage Peterson Dry Sump Pump protects the engine and allows for correct lubrication at all times

CAD CAM Designed Brake Pedal used Ball Bearings on all pivot points. This pedal box is a masterpiece on it's own!

massive GKN (Lobro) CV Joints will send the power to the wheels.
