Proformance Ultra Narrow Differentials

 

Fitting the CV joints inside the Ring Gear allows for much longer axles, more wheel travel and protection of the CV boot from damage caused by Rocks and Debris. Based on race proven technology, our Ultra Narrow Series Differentials are the Narrowest off Road Differentials in the world - period. Our CV joint faces are only 40mm apart - a world first.

Off Road Racing, ULTRA 4 Racing, Rock Bouncing and many other forms of off Road Motorsport are seeing a lot more vehicles fitted with Independent Front (IFS) and/or Independent Rear Suspension (IRS).

 

Before now, the only option was to take an OEM Differential and cut it down in length and fit some CV joints where the axle tubes once were. Unfortunately most diffs use small bearings and after modification the CV faces are typically 14-15 inches (450mm) apart.

 

Off road racing is all about wheel travel and short axles prevent wheel travel - simple.

 

Finally, competitors all over the world have a cost effective, race proven alternative. our ultra narrow differentials have the CV joints fitted insid the ring gear, allowing for incredibly long axles, never before seen in Off Road Vehicles.

ULTRA4 OFF ROAD IFS IRS DIFFERENTIAL  - NAROWER THAN 9" IFS DIFFS
Proformance U250 (DANA 60)

 

Based on our Race Proven 250mm prototype from 2008, the Ultra Narrow 250 uses a 9.75' (250mm) Ring Gear and 8.5" (215mm) Taper Roller Bearings to allow the CV joints to be mounted inside the Ring Gear Carrier

 

Proformance Ultra Narrow Diffs have the CV joints mounted up inside the Ring Gear Carrier, allowing for much longer Axles and much more wheel travel. Inboard Cv joints also provide protection of the CV boot from rocks and debris common if off road use.

 

The Proformance Ultra narrow "U250" Diff is available with a Spool (locked drive) U250S, Detroit Locker (U250L) and with or without Inboard Brakes (U250SB + U250LB) and accommodates 934 "Series 21" CV Joints with either 33 or 35 spline axles.

ULTRA NARROW IFS IRS DIFF ROCK RACING KING HAMMERS ROCK BOUNCING
Proformance U290 (DANA 80)

 

Based on our Race Proven U250mm Ultra Narrow Diff, the Ultra Narrow U290 uses a massive 11.25" (290mm) Ring Gear and massive 9.0" (230mm) Taper Roller Bearings to allow the use of Series 30 CV Joints

 

Proformance Ultra Narrow Diffs have the CV joints mounted up inside the Ring Gear Carrier, allowing for much longer Axles and much more wheel travel. Inboard Cv joints also provide protection of the CV boot from rocks and debris common if off road use.

 

The 290 is available with a Spool (locked drive), Detroit Locker, Inboard Brakes and accommodates the heavy duty "Series 30" CV Joints with 40 or 44 spline axles.

 

With inboard CV Joints, the CV mounting faces are only 40mm Apart.
