Principle of Cavalieri

Francesco Bonaventura Cavalieri, a student of Galilei - , published in 1629 the principle of volume comparison of two bodies based on his considerations.

If two bodies lie between two parallel planes and if the contents of the intersections of the bodies with each plane parallel to the base plane are equal to each other, then these bodies also have the same volume.
